We know you work hard and you want to play even harder by exploring Bok Tower, visiting Lake Mariam, taking the dogs for a walk at Marshall Hampton Reserve, and by bringing your family to Legoland, but you need a truck that is up for the task. We know choosing the right truck for you can be difficult so we here at Winter Haven Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram have taken the liberty of comparing two of the top trucks on the market for you. Today we will be looking at the 2020 Ram 1500 Big Horn Quad Cab and the 2020 Chevrolet Silverado LT Double Cab. Follow along to see which truck is right for you!
When properly equipped the Ram 1500 Big Horn Quad Cab is capable of towing up to 12,750 pounds so you can bring your boat over to Lake Cannon or Lake Daisy. The maximum towing capacity of the Big Horn is thanks to a 5.7-liter Hemi V8 with eTorque technology that makes 395 horsepower and 410 lb-ft of torque. When equipped with the EcoDiesel engine the Big Horn can tow up to 12,560 pounds. The standard engine for the Big Horn is an impressive 3.6-liter V6 with eTorque that tows up to 7,730 pounds thanks to 305 horsepower and 269 lb-ft of torque.
The maximum towing capacity for the Chevy Silverado LT is a rather sad 11,600 pounds when equipped with the 5.3-liter V8 DFM. The V8 engine pushes out 355 horsepower and 383 lb-ft of torque. Next up, towing capability wise is the 3.0-liter Duramax Turbo-Diesel, which can tow up to 9,300 pounds. The standard engine for the LT, however, is a 2.7-liter turbocharged engine that makes 310 horsepower, 348 lb-ft of torque, and is only capable of towing up to 6,800 pounds.
The Ram 1500 Big Horn comes outfitted with comfortable premium cloth bucket seats that come in either all-black, Black and Light Mountain Brown, Black and Diesel Gray, and Black and Light Frost Beige. The 5-inch touchscreen in the Big Horn comes connected to a six-speaker sound system, Bluetooth, and a 4G LTE Wi-Fi hotspot. You can outfit the Big Horn with either a massive 12-inch touchscreen with navigation or an 8.4-inch touchscreen. Both infotainment options work with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.
The Silverado LT is pretty bare-bones when it comes to features. The truck has technology features such as cruise control, a backup camera, power mirrors, air conditioning, a USB port, and audio controls on the steering wheel. You will also find the LT has remote entry, LED headlights, and alloy wheels.
The winner between the two trucks is as clear as day. The 2020 Ram 1500 Big Horn Quad Cab tows circles around the 2020 Chevrolet Silverado LT Double Cab. Not only can the Big Horn tow more than the LT, but the Ram pickup truck also has a plush interior with loads of features you’re sure to love!
