If you think you know the Ram 1500, think again! This hardworking pickup truck has been redesigned for 2019, offering more efficient power, increased capability, and a slew of innovative storage solutions.
Winter Haven CDJR has compiled some of the top features of this extremely capable vehicle in our 2019 Ram 1500 review. Read on to learn what this truck can offer Florida drivers in Winter Haven, Lakeland, and Bartow.
The 2019 Ram 1500 takes advantage of eTorque technology, a mild hybrid system that works to increase fuel efficiency and provide additional short-term torque when needed. Instead of a traditional alternator, the eTorque system uses a 48-volt battery pack with a belt-driven generator that uses brake energy to recharge.
This system comes standard with the base engine, a 3.6L Pentastar® V6 that delivers 305 horsepower and 269 lb-ft of torque. Upgrade to the 5.7L HEMI® V8, which is available both with and without eTorque, for 395 horsepower and 410 lb-ft of torque.
When you choose the V8 without eTorque, the Ram 1500 gets an EPA-estimated 15 MPG city/22 MPG highway. Opt for the mild hybrid system to go farther on a single tank of gas, with an EPA-estimated 17 MPG city/23 MPG highway.

2019 Ram 1500: Capability
One of the major aspects of the 2019 redesign for the Ram 1500 is a new frame. 98% high-strength steel makes the frame lighter and stronger. Lightening up the frame without sacrificing rigidity means you can carry more weight in the bed and on the hitch.
In fact, the 2019 Ram 1500 has a max payload of 2,300 pounds, and it can tow up to 12,750 pounds when properly equipped.
This strong and hardworking truck also offers an available Active-Level™ Four Corner Air Suspension to increase both on- and off-road capability. Some of the benefits of this feature include:
Keeping the truck level under heavy loads
Smoothing the ride when traveling across rough terrain
Lowering the truck manually for easier loading/unloading
Lowering the truck automatically to increase efficiency at highway speeds
2019 Ram 1500: Convenience
Convenience features inside and out include innovative storage space to carry your personal belongings, tools, and work gear. The bed offers an available RamBox® Cargo Management System, which turns the area over the rear wheel wells into lockable and weatherproof storage compartments. These bins, which you can easily access from the side of the truck, also include 115-volt, 400-watt outlets.
There’s also an available multifunction tailgate with 60/40 split doors that can either fold down like a traditional tailgate or swing open to the sides. These side-swinging doors make it easier to load the bed from a forklift or step inside the bed to wash it out. Plus, when lowered, they can hold up to 2,000 pounds.
Inside the cab, the length has been increased by four inches compared to the 2018 model, offering more rear legroom. Additional storage space includes available rear under-seat compartments. Plus, available Ram Bins offer 5.5 more inches of in-floor storage than the previous model, so you can easily store larger items such as a 4-inch drop hitch.
