Plenty of SUVs have three rows of seating—but the 2019 Dodge Journey stands apart from its competition with details that make the interior space even more convenient. Plus, its capable engine options carry you and your gear without issue.
DCJR of Winter Haven finds all the below features to be helpful for Winter Haven, Lakeland, and Bartow drivers. Discover them for yourself in this 2019 Dodge Journey Review!
Dodge Journey Interior Innovations
This midsize SUV allows you to carry seven across three rows of seating. Two passengers can sit comfortably up front, with three in the second row and two seats in the rear. Altogether, there’s 123.7 cubic feet of passenger volume.
Taking young ones along for the ride? The family-friendly Journey offers available integrated child booster seats. Since these are built right into the 2nd-row seats, you don’t need to fuss around with a child seat to keep little ones safe. Plus, you can fold these booster seats away when they’re not needed.
The second row also offers standard in-floor storage—but it’s not your everyday in-floor storage. Add ice, and this compartment doubles as a cooler. Then, when you’re finished with it, remove the bin to dump excess or melted ice. This feature is perfect for tailgating before the big game or keeping drinks cold on a road trip.
You can also carry larger objects without issue: Fold flat the 2nd- and 3rd-row seats for up to 67.6 cubic feet of cargo volume. When all three seats are in use, there’s still a handy 10.7 cubic feet of space in the rear cargo area.
Dodge Journey Performance
The larger your vehicle, the more often you need to stop for gas—right? Not so in the Journey, which can take you up to 500 miles on a single tank of gas with its 2.4L 4-cylinder engine. This motor also provides 173 horsepower for your drive.
For more power, go with the available 3.6L Pentastar® V6. This option generates 283 horsepower and 260 lb-ft of torque. Plus, when properly equipped, it allows you to tow up to 2,500 pounds. That means you can take all your toys along for the ride, too, whether you’re carrying a trailer full of bikes or a pop-up tent.
Two-wheel drive comes standard in the Journey, with power going to the front wheels. If you want extra traction for mud- or gravel-covered surfaces, all-wheel drive models are also available.
This AWD system sends some of its power to the rear wheels when you need a better grip on slippery road surfaces. Otherwise, it sends all its power to the front wheels to improve fuel economy.
Dodge Journey Technology
High-tech features are available to make your ride even better in the 2019 Journey. These include options like:
Heated front seats
Heated steering wheel
3-Zone Automatic Temperature Control (ATC)
You can also opt for a rear seat entertainment system to reduce those cries of “are we there yet?” With this option, a 9-inch screen flips down from overhead in the second row. Rear passengers can use it to watch videos and even play games.
And when you choose a model with the available Uconnect® 3 NAV system, you’ll also receive five years of SiriusXM® Traffic and SiriusXM® Travel Link. Use this to stay informed about everything from traffic and weather conditions to sports scores, gas prices, and beyond. Plus, you can navigate all this infotainment from an 8.4-inch touchscreen.
