THE LOW PAYMENT KINGS SEEK SPONSORS & GOLFERS FOR UNIQUE GOLF EVENT

The Mahalak Auto Group will host their '18 Aces to Conquer Cancer' 5th annual golf outing to raise funds for pancreatic cancer research and patient aid. The event will take place Wednesday, May 17, 2017 at Westbrook Golf & Country Club in Mansfield, OH.

The event offers a chance to win a new vehicle for every hole-in-one made. The course will be set up so that every hole is a par 3, play will be best ball scramble. Proceeds from the event will benefit the Barbara Ann Karmanos Cancer Institute for Pancreatic Cancer Research. "The goal of 18 Aces to Conquer Cancer is to raise funds for pancreatic cancer, but also to have a fun time doing it!" said Ralph Mahalak Jr., co-owner of the Mahalak Auto Group. "We are currently looking for interested sponsors, golfers, speakers, and volunteers."

The event will have a shotgun start at 1:30pm. After the round of golf concludes, there will be a dinner with live and silent auctions.  "We are trying to raise awareness for pancreatic cancer and we raise funds for pancreatic cancer research," said Ralph. "It is rarely detected in its early stages, so it is one of the leading causes of cancer death." Signs and symptoms may not appear until pancreatic cancer is quite advanced and surgical removal isn't possible. 18 Aces to Conquer Cancer aims to spread awareness of pancreatic cancer, while donating proceeds to research and patient aid.

Last year's event was held in Kissimmee, FL and raised $30,000 pancreatic cancer research and related programs. Each year, the event is rotated between venues to be close to one of the 6 Mahalak Auto Group locations.

Thank you from PCAP and Karmanos

Dear Mr. Mahalak,

We are astounded!!  Not quite sure how to express how much we appreciate your support. Your gift of $12,371 assures that we will continue in our efforts to raise funds and awareness to fight the horrible disease known as pancreatic cancer. We both know now just how devastating it is.

We feel great about the progress we have made so far. Last year we really gained some ground and know that people are starting to find out about us. We plan to continue creating events to raise funds and awareness for pancreatic cancer. Last year we were able to give $20,000 towards research.

By November, we plan to have some informational pamphlets available at local cancer centers, medical facilities and other key points for those facing a pancreatic cancer diagnosis. Many of us felt like we were really at a loss for where to start seeking information when we were in that situation. A local restaurant will host a fundraiser in October and we hold a PurpleLight Vigil in November.
You have been instrumental in moving PCAP forward and I am forever grateful. I really every little bit we can do will someday make the difference for different outcomes for pancreatic cancer patients.

It was such a pleasure meeting you all and we thoroughly enjoyed the 18 Aces to Conquer Cancer dinner. Hope to see you again! Stay well!

Thank you,
Robyn Ferguson
